Yard Sale!!!

This morning, Me, Dale and Hayden decided to go to some yard sales. We went to Burger King for breakfast and then back to pick up mom and dad. I went to one yard sale and got Caitlyn a Hollister T-shirt, pajamas, blue jean skirt and two pairs of blue jean shorts for $3. Dale bought Hayden a wooden toy train for 50 cents. We had a nice time. Caitlyn and Jackson spent the night with MawMaw last night and we picked them up around 4pm.
We had to go to Walmart and get Dale's BP medicine and when we were walking in, we heard this man yelling at this lady. We looked over and they were both inside this car and he was practically in her face yelling that he was going to hurt her. She was leaning towards her window like she was scared. Dale started walking that way...holding my baby! I told him to stay away and we would let the manager know and he could call the cops. I was scared for her, but that man was probably on something and I didn't want to get involved in it with the kids there. I REALLLLY wanted to pull that guy out of his car and beat the crap out of him and then tell that poor girl that she did not have to put up with that. I would have LOVED for Dale to give him a good ole beat down, but sometimes you have to bite your tongue and let someone else take care of it. Come to find out, they had been in the store earlier that day and a similar incident happened. Poor girl, I am so blessed that I don't have to deal with that. All I got to say is at some point that jerk will go to sleep and she needs to get a cast iron skillet and go to town on his head!!!
Anyway, I think we are planning a yard sale for next week. Dale is trying to get enough money to enclose the car port. We will finally have a dining room!!! Also, that area is not on a crawl space so when Hayden is asleep, the kids can play in there and it will not sound like they are walking on a drum! This floor is nice, but it is literally like walking on a drum and every step is heard throughout the house.
Okay enough for now...

Hells Kitchen!

Tonight started another season of Hell's Kitchen and I am hooked...again! I love that show. Dale and I were cracking up at the dumb things that they were doing! I cannot wait until next Tuesday night.
Work was good...I got to leave at 4:30 because we were slow. Dale cooked supper for me again and it was NICE! Jackson went to bed around 8pm and Hayden went to bed at 9pm. Caitlyn is still awake.
Speaking of Caitlyn, I had to buy her her first real bra today. She loves to run around the house without a shirt on at night because she is very hot natured. I finally had to tell her that she is getting too big for that and it was time to keep those girls covered up. She has had some play bra's, but today she got some real ones...kind of sad.
Nothing major going on around here. Just work and house cleaning. We packed up some stuff to put in the shed for a upcoming garage sale. I packed away all of Hayden's bottles...he has been off of them for a few months now, but it was VERY sad to pack them away. I am not sure that I can sell them...they were Jack's and passed down to Hayden (yes, I will sell them, but I dont have to be excited about it). I need Dale to keep me strong about not having another one. These are the hardest times for me. I hate it when they start potty training and growing up so fast. BUT if we had another one...eventually I would be going through the same thing with it and next thing you know, we would be the Duggar's!!
Hayden knows his eyes, nose and ears now...he is sooooo cute. When I was pregnant with him, Jackson would tell us that he was going to teach him all about trains. WELL, Hayden LOVES Thomas The Tank Engine now. He loves to hear the theme song and play with all the trains that Jack has collected! Enough for now...more later.

Our 90th Post!

I wish I had something fun to write about! The kids are being good for once! Today was slow, "you know who" was in a bad mood this morning so that made my day GREAT! Dale spent yesterday morning building boxes to put under my washer and dryer so that I dont have to bend down to take the clothes out of the washer and put them in the dryer. We bought our front loader washer and dryer about 4 years ago, but never bought the drawer that goes under them. I loved them at first, but after a while I grew tired of bending over to do laundry. I think my back is just not as good after carrying three kids. SO, 4 years later, we finally get around to building some boxes that raise them up almost 2 feet. I LOVE THEM!!! It is crazy nice to do laundry the normal way again!!
Caitlyn told me tonight that her daddy and I are mean to her. I guess that means that we are doing our job!! I thought that would be a fine time to tell her about my childhood. Not that my childhood was bad, it was good, but I certainly did not get away with half the stuff she does. I dont really want to raise my kids exactly how I was raised. I think that is every mom's goal. That their children raise their kids like they were raised except that they enhance it a little. It is funny to me sometimes because my mom will say..."yall didnt get away with that when yall were kids." I know that I am probably making them become messed up adults, but only time will tell and every night I just have to feel good about what I have done for that day!! This "parenting" thing is hard hard hard and keeps getting harder. There are no rules and no two kids can be raised the same way. All three of my kids respond to things differently. For instance, Jack usually gives no response, Caitlyn starts crying immediately and Hayden just walks off! I have to make my point clear three different ways usually. Anyway, Caitlyn got the picture after I was done and realized that she does not have room to complain much. I had to help do the dishes, laundry and cleaning the house and she FREAKS out if she has to help fold laundry. I really think that she was probably a princess in a previous life and had everything handed to her on a silver platter!! She is a priss for sure. I believe that Hayden will be my helper boy. He loves to clean and help. I dont really know about Jackson, the best I can think of is a brain surgeon...he is cocky like a surgeon and likes things done his own way and is smart as a whip. Anyway, I am going on and on...GOODNIGHT ALL!!

Finally Friday!!

We were SOOOO slow at work today. I had to stay until 5:30, but we were dead after 2pm. I pretty much sat at my desk looking at the clock. It is amazing how much things change between the winter and summer at the clinic. I ate my Lean Cuisine meal for lunch...it was GROSSSS!
Dale fixed supper tonight which was a nice surprise...the couch was so lonely without him! HA HA! I watched the season finale of 16 and Pregnant. I dont really ever watch MTV, but one night this show came on and I was hooked. The season finale was about a 16 year old couple that gave their baby up for adoption. I cried and cried and cried. I would be okay during commercials, but when it came back on, I would start all over. It was absolutely the saddest show I have ever watched.
I have to work tomorrow (yuck). After work, we are going to Larry's for Hannah Work's Birthday party! I cant believe how fast our girls are growing up. Enough for now, the older two are in time out for a minute...they are acting like a bunch of crazy people.

Happy Birthday Dale!!!

Well, it's kind of blurry, but there it is. My husbands age. Dang, he is getting old. I cant believe that in a couple of years, I will be married to a 40 year old!! I don't think I am ready for that. I still feel like I am a teenager sometimes...like I havent aged, but he has! He had a good birthday I think. I took him to Larry's (his favorite place) for lunch and accidently forgot that I was supposed to be at a meeting at work instead...oops. Then we ate chinese food for supper (not my favorite, but he loves it). I bought him a lemon cupcake with lemon icing because that is his favorite too and bought a chocolate cake for everyone else! His mom bought him a smoker, Jennifer and Hannah got him a movie card and I got him some new underwear!!!!!!! He is going to kill me for telling that!!! Ha Ha...I also got him a digital meat thermometer to use with his new smoker!
Work was busy today, a lot of strange stuff. We made it though. I kept doing stupid stuff all day, I guess when you start off on the wrong foot, it makes the whole day messed up. We made it though, I can't be good all the time! I am also a team leader for creating a new t-shirt design at work...that should be fun! I have no idea what I am doing, but I am determined that my team WILL win! Okay, Jack just started screaming...gotta go...

I am finished buying school supplies!!

I bought the last bit this afternoon! Thank God it is over!! Actually, they did not really need a whole lot this year. I love to buy school supplies, I guess it reminds me of my childhood.
Jackson picked out a Transformer backpack from Target and had to have the matching lunch box too. Caitlyn has a pink bag with hearts on it from Old Navy that she got for her birthday. We ate at Chili's for dinner after going to Target. I ate the Honey Chipolte Chicken Crispers and they were SOOO good! Maw Maw went with us and brought Caitlyn and Jackson back home. I spent the rest of the evening trying to clean the boys' room. I am amazed at how quickly they can mess it back up. I put everything up except for the GeoTrack stuff. Hayden loves to play with it, so I made a big train track with all the houses and stuff so it takes up most of the floor. Everything else is put away. Jackson is actually sleeping in his own bed (HALLELUJAH) and Caitlyn is trying to wind down in her bed...she would prefer if Jack was in there with her, but she would never admit that. Hayden, of course, is sound asleep in his bed! Dale is watching "Skeleton Key" on the SciFi channel so I am sure I will not be able to sleep tonight now!! Anyway, more later...

Jennifer's Birthday

My sister Jennifer turned 31 today...she is gettin OLD!!! Mark (husband) and Hannah (daughter) threw her a party this afternoon at her house. Everyone swam and ate good food! It does not seem like she should be in her thirties. It seems like we are still teenagers. I guess I am in denial about my upcoming thirtieth birthday as well. She had a good time, Mark got her a german chocolate cake from Cakery Affairs and it was delicious! That is the same place that made Hayden's cake!
Hayden really enjoyed getting in the pool at Aunt Jens! I am so glad that we do not have a pool at our house though because I would be a nervous wreck with Hayden. He has NO fear and thought the idea of jumping into the pool was great. He did not care if he had his swimmers on or not!
After the party, Dale and I took the kids to MawMaw's. Caitlyn and Jack wanted to spend the night. They both slept with us last night and neither of us got any sleep, I swear those two move more when they are sleeping then when they are awake! They pretty much made it impossible to get any sleep! Needless to say, we are ready for a good nights sleep. I am super grouchy today, not sure why! I think I have finally started having PMS symptoms! Dale would argue that I have BEEN having that, but I think it has recently become more pronounced! So, not much going on for now, I will blog again later.
Oh, by the way, we watched "Knowing" it was pretty good, a little scary to me in some parts, but I think I would watch it again if I had to!

Not so "Lucky" dog!

This morning, I got up and mopped the kitchen floor (before work) and visited with mom. I got to work early and started my morning routine. At about 9:00, my mom called to say that she went outside to check on "Lucky" and he was GONE! Can you believe that? His collar was broken and he was nowhere to be found. I could not believe that because he would just lay on the porch if he was not connected to his cable out back. He was not the kind to run off. Mom called the Dog Pound and he was not there. Mom was really not looking forward to telling Caitlyn. When Caitlyn finally woke up, she told mom that she would eat breakfast after she checked on the dog (poor thing). Mom had to tell her that he ran away and she started crying. She is so tenderhearted. Mom got the kids dressed and they drove around looking for him, but he was gone. So, now we wasted that money on stuff that we don't need anymore. I am just glad he ran away before I paid to have his shots updated and stuff. So, tonight we tried not to talk much about him and Caitlyn seems to be doing okay for now. Maybe he will come back.

Anyways, work was about the same as always. We ate spaghetti for supper, Jackson refused to eat it because it looked funny (it was whole wheat), he said it looked like fruit spaghetti! I told him that there was no such thing, but he said that he ate some before!? Who knows! Hayden went to bed early, his hand is looking a little better, but it still bothers him. I think that about covers it...more later.

Lucky Dog!

Yesterday morning, we awoke to find a dog on our doorstep. He looks like a german shepherd mix. He was wearing a brand new red collar. He is very friendly with the kids and has yet to bark. He stayed here all day yesterday and even got to watch fireworks with us! The kids begged us to keep him, but we are maxed out on pets. We just kept telling the kids that he is probably lost and his owner was going to come looking for him. I figured that he would be gone by this morning. Well, around 3:00 this afternoon, our doorbell rang. The lady that lives 2 doors down was at my door. She said that she had picked this dog up a couple of days ago because she felt sorry for him. She said that he was sitting by the road eating a squirrel. She brought him to her house, but as soon as he saw my kids, he came over here. Well, of course, Caitlyn had to start feeding him Bella's food and giving him water. The lady was asking me not to call the dog catcher to come and get him. She was almost in tears about it. I told her that I did not mind him laying on my front porch, but I had no intentions of keeping him. She told me that she would be happy to supply him food every now and then if we let him stay over here. This lady has a house full of dogs and they bark all the time. I wanted to say to her that her act of kindness has now become my problem, but I didn't, Caitlyn over heard our conversation and started crying. She said that she promised to play with him and feed him. I know that she probably will for a day or two and then she will get bored with him. So here I was asking myself what would a good mom do. I decided that if she wants to keep "Lucky" then she will use her walmart gift card and buy him food, water bowl, flea shampoo (he was covered in them) and a cable for him. She did not even hesitate. Dale took her to Wmart and they bought the necessities for him. I gave him a flea bath and we put a flea collar on him. I will take him to the vet and get his shots on Wednesday and we will see how long he lasts. Dale told Caitlyn that if she started ignoring him she would have to call the pound to come and get him. She was okay with that and promised that she will "always" take care of him. So, I guess we fell for it, like all parents do. He is a good dog though. He loves the kids and really loves to take baths! There is just never a dull moment around here.

Happy 4th of July!

Dale and Hayden enjoying the fireworks!

David and Shannon brought the kiddos over to watch the fireworks!

Jackson enjoyed the sparklers!

Caitlyn did not enjoy waiting for the fireworks to start!

This child was so dirty that I am not sure his shirt can be saved!

Today was a wonderful day! I worked in the house all day and Dale took care of all the yard work! We make a nice team!! This evening, we went to mom's for a cookout. Mark came over with Hannah and we had hamburgers and stuff! Fireworks started about 9:30 tonight and the kids were starting to think they weren't coming at all! Finally they started and the kids were so excited! They never seem to last long enough though! My sweet baby boy got burned by a sparkler! I know...I know...I work in the medical field with kids, I should know that he is too young to play with them. Mark kept saying that he was fine and Dale acts like I baby him too much, I was actually holding the sparkler for him and he reached up and grabbed the fire part. I said a couple of colorful words and ran him over to the water hose. He was screaming and I felt like I was going to vomit! He has a few little blisters, but refuses to wear a bandaid...he is tough like his mommy! I can assure you all that we will NOT have sparklers again. Even Caitlyn burned her hand. It is SO not worth it to me to have to go through that again. I hate letting the kids play with stuff like that. Anyways, he is fine now and did not require any serious treatment, but I felt like just going home and forgetting all about fireworks. Anyways, enjoy the pics...
